Out of many busy cities in the United States, Atlanta is one of them. "Atlanta Unsheltered" is a blog that focuses on current events in the Metro Atlanta area. The topics that are covered in this blog are politics, events, suburban growth, and many other.
The most recent postings in this blog deal with the Atlanta Mayoral race. The blogger had a tone that would be considered a bit harsh toward the Mayoral candidates. For example, the blogger said this: "In fact, City councilwoman Mary Norwood said she lives on a three-quarter acre plot with a creek in Buckhead. She later said there’s not much suburban territory in the city. I would say wherever you have three-quarter acre plots, you have suburbia." She also talked about people who refuse to take MARTA and instead drive their cars. This blogger is an advocate for traditional neighborhoods. She writes this to call people to action, so that they would feel the same way she does, and spread the word.
The same blogger, Jeanne Bonner, posted a picture of a comic (right). This image shows how "guilty" we are of blaming each other for the problems we create. Since she also sounds like an advocate for people walking and riding MARTA, this picture serves as good propaganda. People who live in Atlanta know how bad the commute is when coming toward Downtown in the morning. This comic is directed toward the people of Atlanta. It is urging them to rethink the sururban lifestyle.

Another blogger posted a video of a baptismal service in the Chattahooche river. This video is an example of things that people don't see everyday, but it is so cool that the blogger felt compelled to post it. How often does one see a baptism in a river? The purpose of this post is to urge people to go out for a walk, because who knows what cool thing they'll see. Getting out of the car, and the privacy of home exposes us to things that we wouldn't see otherwise.
The writers of this blog are opinionated and they found the right place to share their opinions. Naming their blog with "Atlanta" as part of the name draws many local residents in, and it gives the bloggers an opportunity to share their thoughts. They want people to be involved with the community.
